July saw TSL work alongside ecological consultants FPCR and developers IM Properties PLC on the Nottingham 26 Project in Eastwood.
IM Properties are one of the largest independent development companies in the UK and USA, with a property portfolio in excess of £1bn.
This new industrial development will offer units from 125,000 - 900,000 sq ft for B1, B2 and B8 classifications, all with a BREEAM Excellent rating and an EPC ‘A’ energy rating.
During their ecological surveys, FPCR consultants identified a resident Great crested Newt population (Protected my UK and European Law) plus other amphibians and reptiles. The presence of such protected species lead to TSL delivering an extensive mitigation programme under European Protected Species Licence, prior to the main construction.
With the newt fencing installed, the project ecologists were able to carry out a formal translocation programme to collect and move newts to a suitable habitat, away from the construction zone.
All ecological contracting work was delivered on time, to specification and on budget.
