Would you like to create a woodland? Threeshires can offer a “Turnkey Woodland" service. Working to your brief we can conceive, plan and implement your new woodland. We can offer tailor made solutions incorporating long term management and maintenance contracts should you desire it. Planting

Three shires offer both mechanized and manual planting options. We can cater for any requirement from small landscape scheme creation to large scale production reforestation

Our mechanical planting systems enable us to reduce the timeframe required when compared with manual planting operations. In late season planting this can make the difference between completing a job prior to the transplants awakening from dormancy

Where larger scale and semi mature transplants are required we will usually incorporate auger preparation of planting site, we have plant to enable efficient distribution of transplants, compost and protection materials onto any site. Read On

Maintenance

Three shires offer both chemical and mechanical maintenance options for controlling competitive vegetation. We also operate flail and mulching equipment to provide respacing services where required. We are seeing an increase in the management of regeneration on both amenity and commercial sites a combination of techniques from motor-manual clearing saws through to mulching enable us to tackle anything. Thinning

Three Shires undertakes both economic and uneconomic thinning operations for our clients. From chemical or clearing saw thinning work through to final thinning of mature hardwood stands we can provide the equipment and experience to get the job done. Harvesting

Three Shires harvest both hard and softwood timber for a range of markets. We will undertake subcontract work or buy standing timber. Although we do not process timber ourselves we have access to a range of companies who do. Read On

Clearance

Low Impact Forestry

A targeted specialty of Three Shires is the undertaking of low impact work on sensitive sites. Our broad range of experience allows us to draw upon various techniques which when combined with our specialist equipment means that we can often undertake works under seemingly impossible constraints. Recent works have included removing overstory prior to great crested newt trapping operations, removal of scrub vegetation to allow reptile surveys, removal of woodland with minimal disturbance to ecologically significant calcareous grasses and extracting timber from above badger setts.
