“The fence had to cope with a site that was undulating and which had a wide variety of ground conditions ranging from stony ground to marsh. It also needed to be capable of creating small tight compartments. In addition the perimeter fence needed to withstand vandalism and following translocation, plant activities on the site edge. HERPETOSURE® was chosen and from the start the fence was the least difficult component of the translocation. It went in very quickly and the new rivets prevented gaps forming between the panels. The fence survived the hot July weather and the school summer holidays intact. Even when the ground dried the fence remained intact and upright. Following translocation the fence was able to be driven over by heavy plant before springing back to its original position. Having had experience of many different types of newt and reptile fencing in the last fifteen years I was very pleased with HERPETOSURE® and will be using it again on future projects." Dear James,

I felt compelled to write to Three Shires, following the recently completed works.

I must say that for the works you have carried out, your competition in the area is quite aggressive. Indeed, once we had made our minds up, and needed to make a decision, everybody appeared to be able to reduce their price considerably.

That being said, Three Shire were always a little more expensive, but the feedback we received from your customers and from the competitors customers always came back to the question of quality. You guys always talked about more quality than price. With some trepidation we agreed to use Three Shires.

The work that your men have done is quite simply, faultless. In fact, in completing the works to your standard, they have considerably overstepped the standard we were expecting, based upon what we have seen locally. Sometimes, these things are hard to quantify, there are certainly lots of little things of small detail, but I have noticed them all, I can assure you. What I do know is that I requested that you match the new fencing to the old. I am so glad you didn’t- Three Shires standard is much higher than what was already there.

In a brief letter, it is difficult to list all of the things that I approved of, but it basically comes down to these;

  1. Your guys were always here when they were supposed to be.
  2. They were ALL, credible and good quality people. They were all polite.
  3. The project leaders, Mark, Myles and Dean, we all professional and thorough.
  4. Whenever something came up, that they needed to resolve, they resolved it, to the highest standard, and with no questions about additional cost.
  5. The works and machinery were all to a very high standard.
  6. They took care, cleaned up and made little if no mess.
  7. A few things came up, which were not to what was ordered. They were put right immediately.
  8. Where there was additional expense, where we had been naïve in our knowledge, we were consulted immediately and when we could see what was required, you got replacements quickly.
  9. The tidying up and removal of rubbish has been complete.
  10. Three Shires have simply been superb value for money.

When a potential customer goes to get quotes for work, it is often difficult to correctly asses whether they are being offered good value for money.

I can categorically state that, although Three Shires appeared at first to be perhaps 10-15% higher than the final quotes of some of the other local and national contractors, when you add all of the above points and the peace of mind these point provide, I cannot think of any reason why I would want to go anywhere else in the future. If Anyone that you are quoting to, in a similar position to us should question your prices and say that they want quality, then please feel free to show them this letter as an unsolicited testimonial as to the quality you provide.

When we require more works, I will be contacting you again, and cannot see any reason why I would want to go elsewhere. I have been in sales and negotiation roles for over 20 years, so I look forward to negotiating with you again.
