Three Shires recently had the pleasure of being invited to provide a demonstration of ecological contracting at an event run by Natural England. The delegates largely comprised of Natural England Staff with the addition of a number of other prominent figures from ecological supervisory bodies including Amphibian and Reptile Conservation.
The day started off with a new piece of kit arriving – a Ditch Witch SX1550, the first of its kind in the UK complete with a full set of attachments including of course a trencher as shown in the below image. At the helm of the demo was TSL’s MD – James Lloyd who with over 25 years’ experience in ecological groundworks was able to demonstrate the correct techniques required in installing various types of newt fencing.
During the day different materials and installation techniques were demonstrated including the patented Herpetosure products with the reasons for the need for them being developed demonstrated by comparing them to other competitor’s products.
A classroom based presentation was then delivered to the delegates with videos, photos and drone footage of projects including machinery, products and installation techniques not able to be demonstrated during the day.
Afterwards a question, answers and feedback section was had which was thoroughly positive, largely revolved around the group commending the efficiency and quality of Three Shires outputs with questions on future products and directions.
